Objective
This blog is for extreme feelings...outside of monthly updates. Either something really wonderful has happened, something excited me, or in all likelyhood, something really pissed me off. Nothing here will be censored, whitewashed, or sugar coated. This is how I feel.

Saturday, August 06, 2005 - :

Just got back from scheduling my classes. Looks like I've got Monday, Wednesday, Friday, from 8 am to 2 pm booked, with a breakfast break at 9 am. 15 credit hours. Day starts out at 8 with General Pyschology, recommendation of the adviser. We'll see how that pans out. Organizational Behavior is scheduled for 10, another suggestion. Then I've got a straight shot through Journalism, Algebra & Trig, and then finally College Composition at 1....wheew. It ought to be a filling schedule.

My adviser for the day was quite the strange one, but endearingly so. He couldn't get over my middle name. Said it was like music. Apparently, in his opinion I should be going by S. Talia Hassler. He was the type in board shorts and a tank top with hiking books that he promptly removed once seated in the office. He made it simple, explaining stuff to me without the administrative BS. Regardless, it was a fairly good event.

I suppose I'm looking at Syracuse University for my B.A. Bry is looking into ITT in Syracuse as well.....looks right, doesn't it?

It's official, I'm hitting the books! I've waited for this chance for a long time.....it's almost surreal that it's here. I head up the college tomorrow morning for scheduling and testing. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes!

In other news, just finished the latest JD Robb book. It was intensely creepy, which is strange for her I think. It had more of a Dean Koontz feel, but was still Eve Dallas at the core. It was the first book of hers that gave me the creeps. I don't want to get into the why, as it would spoil it for those soon to read it, but wow. Not gory, not hugely disasterous, not anything like the other books have been before. It was all so large in scale that it was almost difficult to fathom. You know what, I'm just gonna throw this out there....two words: QUIET BIRTH

Stephanie finally finished with the Harry Potter books...though she has yet to lend me the Da Vinci code. I may very well have to go out and buy it...ugghh..oh well, another trip to Barnes and Noble! I will have to wait though, we don't have the money this weekend.

Anyway, about the Harry Potter books, Rachel now has them, but I'm next on the list. I need to review a few of the older books. I also found a great site for theories and explanations on the literature itself.

Here's one with predictions on book seven: Here
And here's one on Deconstructing Rowling with great explanations of symbolism: Here

I may make the trip to B&N regardless, just to get in the afternoon read of The Hidden Key to Harry Potter. It's pretty interesting to know that a story you just love is filled to the brim with symbolism and deeper meaning. It satisfied my Harry Potter tooth for an afternoon at least!

I'd like to take a moment from normal updates and posts to show you all something. In light of my brother, Chad, (yes, the biggest asshole on the planet, that's the one) and his ridiculously ludacris weblog, I have decided to introduce a new line of t-shirts just for him.

Before we get to the good stuff, let me explain. If you haven't visited his blog lately, you won't understand. You see....he is a sad, sad, little man with no life and no job and nothing better to do than sit in front of the computer writing commentaries and opinion posts that are mildly interesting. No, I don't think the commentaries suck.

What I do find strange is his ability to remember a miniscule speck of time when someone pissed him off or annoyed him. He then takes that memory and draws a picture in GIMP of the alleged perpetrator. Not only this, but he is sure to include a ridiculously retarded saying on the tee shirt.

You can see a version of me Here

And also one of Bryon, Here

And now for my retort.....

I have nothing more to add on the matter. Go back to your lives.
